Double H Gunsmithing offers a wide range of general gunsmithing services at our shop in Blanch, North Carolina. That work includes transfers, specialty shipping, rebarreling, suppressor threading, rifle builds, rebluing, wood refinishing, case hardening, trigger and action jobs, chambering, muzzle brakes, and other shop services. Transfers

FFL and NFA transfers at our shop. This page covers transfer fees, how to have a firearm shipped to us, identification and Form 4473 requirements, and what to expect from the background check.

Shipments

We pack and ship for Mag-na-port barrel porting, Briley thin-wall choke threading, or shipment to an FFL you choose. The charge is $40 for handling and packing materials, plus our actual UPS cost, plus the vendor’s charges when we pay Mag-na-port or Briley on your behalf.

Rebarreling

Suppressor Threading

Thread barrels for suppressors and muzzle devices. Common pitches include 1/2-28 and 5/8-24. $150 includes a thread protector.

Rifle Builds

Custom bolt-action builds from a donor rifle or a full parts list. Remington 700 and Mauser donors are common. We recommend MPA or MDT chassis, with fiberglass and laminate stocks as classic options.

Rebluing

Hot bluing, slow rust bluing, and nitre bluing, plus wall-hanger treatment and Cerakote dark blue. Long guns generally start at $300; handguns at $200.

Case Hardening

Color case hardening for classic doubles and furniture irons. Generally starts at $350, with optional clearcoat available.

Wood Refinishing

Stock and forend refinishing, including strip-and-refinish work, matte/satin/high-polish options, recoil pads (KICK-EEZ preferred), and final fit on a 95% semi-inlet. Generally starts at $200. Complete refinish is recommended when wear covers a broad area.

Triggers

Bolt-action trigger jobs and aftermarket installs (Timney, TriggerTech, Bix’n Andy, and others), plus revolver action jobs, starting at $80 plus parts. We do not install or service binary triggers, FRTs, or similar devices.
